The music pictures a day in the desert. The sun rises and the day begins. Different themes describe various sceneries giving the audience's imagination the liberty and inspiration to picture different images of the desert. The tinkle of the camels' bells aounces the arrival of the caravan. The caravan enters the image with a distinct theme and as it gets closer, the theme gets stronger. The caravan is now at the center of the image and right in front of the audience's eyes, the music now becomes smooth and through its soft notes we find the image of the travelers: The cameleer, a girl on a palanquin sneak peeking from behind a curtain, the fellow foot-travelers... we hear again the caravan's specific theme and the weaker it gets, the further the caravan is in our image. A storm rises in the desert and as the calm settles down again, the sun sets. The night begins, it gets darker and darker and in the end, we can see the stars blinking and shining at the night of the desert
